Ordering repeat prescriptions

The easiest way to order repeat prescriptions is:

This accounts shows you all your repeat medicine and dosage and you can choose the ones you need.

You can also:

  • Use our prescription line by calling 01505 321051 or 01505 32670 option 3 .  Please note DO NOT leave any other messages on this line.
  • see your local pharmacy who can order your prescription for you. (this is often quicker than contacting the surgery).
  • bring the paper form to the surgery and post it into the red box in the reception area before 10am

We do not take repeat prescription requests via email.

Remember to leave the medication name and current dose you are taking. If you do not provide this then your prescription may not be processed.

If you are planning to go away on holiday and will require your prescription early, please inform reception.

Collecting your prescription

You can usually collect your prescription from the pharmacy 3 to 5 working days after you have ordered it.

You will need to choose a pharmacy to collect your prescription from. We call this nominating a pharmacy.

You can change your nominated pharmacy at any time:

  • on the app or website where you order repeat prescriptions
  • at your GP practice
  • at any pharmacy that accepts repeat prescriptions

Do not phone to see if your prescription is ready. Go to your chosen pharmacy after 72hrs. The surgery will be enforcing this rule as checking to see if prescriptions are ready is time consuming and is adding pressure on the service. IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO ENSURE YOUR MEDICATION IS ORDERED IN TIME.

If you wish your prescription to be collected from the surgery by one of our local pharmacies, please informs us when requesting your prescription. Please note that ASDA Linwood will only collect your prescription if you have contacted them.

All acute medication will need to be requested between 10am-12pm by telephone.  Your medication if prescribed will be sent to your chosen chemist after your request. Acute medication requests are not classed as urgent. Do not attend the surgery to collect your prescription.

Please note that we will be enforcing the rules for ALL (repeat and acute) prescriptions requests.  It is your responsibility to make sure you have enough medication.

Questions about your prescription

If you have questions about your medicine, your local pharmacists can answer these. They can also answer questions on medicines you can buy without a prescription.

The NHS website has information on how your medicine works, how and when to take it, possible side effects and answers to your common questions.
